The Green Pencil Foundation, supported by Commutiny – The Youth Collective, successfully organised a Campus Climate Vartaleap at Government Boys Senior Secondary School (GBSSS), NIT 5, Faridabad. The interactive session aimed to engage young minds in meaningful dialogue on one of the most urgent global challenges — climate change.
A total of 63 students actively participated in the activity, sharing their experiences, ideas, and reflections on how climate change is impacting their everyday lives. Through these open discussions, students explored the importance of sustainable habits, climate awareness, and collective responsibility in protecting the environment.

Ms. Jyoti Mangala, Principal of GBSSS NIT 5, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of empowering students with environmental consciousness.
“It is very crucial to sensitise and engage students on one of the key pressing issues of our time — climate change. Programs like Campus Climate Vartaleap help students connect this issue with their everyday lives and inspire them to become responsible citizens,” she said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandy Khanda, Founder and Director of the Green Pencil Foundation, shared the broader vision of the initiative.
“We are trying to integrate our Vartaleap as a journey of moving from intention to action. The goal is to transform awareness into tangible steps towards sustainability. We are planning to mobilise a total of 1,000 young students across 12 government schools in Faridabad, Gurugram, and Rewari. We are thankful to the District Administration and District Education Officers for their continued support in their respective districts,” said Mr. Khanda.
The Campus Climate Vartaleap is part of the Changeloomers Youth Leadership in Climate Action Program, a flagship initiative of Commutiny – The Youth Collective, designed to nurture young changemakers and climate leaders at the grassroots level.

Under the leadership of Mr. Sandy Khanda, the Green Pencil Foundation continues to drive youth-led climate dialogues and sustainability campaigns across Haryana and Delhi NCR. The Foundation envisions building an ecosystem where young people not only understand the urgency of climate change but also lead collective efforts to create a sustainable and resilient future.
