Restoring the Lifeline: Green Pencil Foundation Leads Yamuna Clean-up Drive at Kalindi Kunj

The Yamuna is more than just a river it is a lifeline for millions of people, a source of biodiversity, and an integral part of India’s natural heritage. Protecting it is a shared responsibility that begins with collective action.

Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of DPSRU, successfully organized a Yamuna Clean-up Drive at Kalindi Kunj Ghat, bringing together nearly 50 passionate volunteers committed to creating a cleaner and healthier environment. The initiative was proudly supported by the Earth Warrior Team, whose dedication and enthusiasm strengthened the impact of the campaign.

Throughout the drive, volunteers collected plastic waste, single-use packaging, bottles, and other non-biodegradable litter that had accumulated along the riverbank. Beyond cleaning the surroundings, the initiative also encouraged visitors and local communities to understand the importance of responsible waste disposal and environmental stewardship.

This clean-up drive was not just about removing waste it was about inspiring action. Every bag of waste collected represented a step towards restoring the Yamuna, while every volunteer became an ambassador for environmental responsibility.

At Green Pencil Foundation, we strongly believe that meaningful climate action starts at the grassroots. Through community engagement, youth leadership, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to build a future where rivers, forests, and biodiversity thrive alongside sustainable communities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Rotaract Club of DPSRU, the Earth Warrior Team, and every volunteer who dedicated their time and energy to this mission. Your commitment proves that when young people unite with a common purpose, they can create lasting environmental impact.

The journey to restore our rivers cannot be completed in a single day, but every clean-up drive, every volunteer, and every conscious action brings us one step closer.

Together, let’s continue working towards cleaner rivers, healthier ecosystems, and a greener India.
