Green Pencil Foundation Signs MoU to Launch Eco-Friendly Library Initiative in Faridabad

In a significant step toward integrating sustainability into education, the Green Pencil Foundation has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government Senior Secondary School, Chhainsa, Ballabgarh, Faridabad. The agreement marks the beginning of the implementation of the Eco-Friendly Library Project under the Foundation’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaboration with Imperial Auto Industries.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Aakash Mahato, Operations Head of the Green Pencil Foundation, and Ms. Sushma Yadav, Principal of the school, who expressed her full support for the successful execution of this initiative.

Promoting Climate Education and Sustainability

The Eco-Friendly Library Project is a one-year initiative designed to foster environmental awareness and climate literacy among students by creating sustainable, green learning environments. These libraries are envisioned as knowledge hubs that encourage students to explore topics such as climate change, environmental conservation, sustainable living, and responsible citizenship.

By integrating sustainability into the very fabric of the school environment, the project aims to instill eco-conscious values in young learners, equipping them with the mindset and knowledge necessary to address future environmental challenges.

A Strong CSR Partnership

This initiative is part of a broader mission to develop climate-resilient schools across Faridabad, carried out in partnership with Imperial Auto Industries. Since 2024, this collaboration has been instrumental in transforming educational spaces through the introduction of climate-forward infrastructure and programming.

Mr. Sandy Khanda, Founder of Green Pencil Foundation, expressed his gratitude to Imperial Auto Industries for their continued support:

“We are thankful to Imperial Auto Industries for their unwavering commitment to sustainability in education. Through our collective efforts, we are building a generation that understands the importance of environmental responsibility and is equipped to lead with purpose.”

Vision for Expansion

The Eco-Friendly Library in Chhainsa will serve as a model for similar projects in other government schools across Faridabad. The Foundation plans to expand this initiative in the coming months, ensuring that students in underserved communities have access to enriching educational spaces that promote sustainability.

These efforts are aligned with national and global priorities, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Government of India’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).

Looking Ahead

The Green Pencil Foundation remains committed to empowering schools, students, and communities through innovative, impact-driven projects that blend education with environmental responsibility. The Eco-Friendly Library initiative is not just about books—it’s about building a brighter, greener future.
