The Green Pencil Foundation successfully conducted a large-scale Sustainability and Climate Change Awareness Drive at the Jawahar Navodaya Alumni Association Meet-up in Delhi. The initiative was led by Mr. Aakash Mahato, National Operations Head of the Foundation, and witnessed participation from more than 1,000 attendees.
The awareness session aimed to empower alumni, youth, and working professionals with knowledge about the urgent environmental challenges India faces today. Through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and on-ground experiences from Green Pencil Foundation’s initiatives, the team highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable habits in daily life.
During the session, the GPF team emphasized key issues such as:
Rising air pollution levels and their health impacts
Climate change and the increasing need for community-level action
Waste segregation and the role of citizens in reducing landfill pressure
Water conservation and sustainable resource management
Small lifestyle changes that individuals can adopt to reduce carbon footprints
Mr. Aakash Mahato encouraged attendees to take collective responsibility in building a cleaner, greener, and climate-resilient India. He also shared the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives across cities—such as Climate Chaupal, Sustainable Practices at Home Workshop Series, and Freedom From Pollution Campaign—inspiring participants to join and support these movements.
The session received an enthusiastic response, with alumni expressing their commitment to contributing towards environmental sustainability in their respective communities. The event marked another milestone in the Foundation’s mission to educate and engage millions of citizens in the journey toward a sustainable and climate-conscious nation.
The Green Pencil Foundation remains dedicated to building an informed, responsible, and environmentally active society through consistent grassroots initiatives and partnerships.
