Workshop on Sustainable Practices with Imperial Auto at Sector 28, Faridabad

In a remarkable step towards fostering environmental consciousness among young minds, the Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with Imperial Auto, organized a workshop on sustainable practices at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 28, Faridabad. This initiative is a part of the ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission,’ aimed at educating students about sustainable living and environmental stewardship.

The workshop saw the participation of 250 students from classes 6 to 12, belonging to the age group of 11 to 16 years. These young learners actively engaged in various activities designed to instill sustainable habits and environmental awareness.

Empowering the Next Generation with Sustainable Practices
The team from Green Pencil Foundation, including Founder Mr. Sandy Khanda, along with team members Prem Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Ajay Kumar, and Kishan Kumar, led the workshop with a hands-on approach. They educated students on key sustainable practices, including:

Waste Segregation: Teaching students the importance of separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.

Civic Sense: Encouraging responsible behavior towards public spaces and community well-being.

Home Gardening: Promoting the idea of growing plants at home to improve air quality and sustainability.

Usage of Cloth Bags: Advocating for the use of cloth bags over polythene to reduce plastic pollution.

Metal Water Bottles over Single-Use Plastics: Highlighting the environmental impact of single-use plastics and encouraging the switch to reusable metal bottles.

Solar Energy Utilization: Educating students on the benefits of using solar energy as a renewable and clean source of power.

Water Conservation: Stressing the importance of saving water and adopting efficient water usage practices.

Commitment to a Clean and Green Faridabad
During the workshop, School Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav expressed his gratitude to the Green Pencil Foundation and Imperial Auto for organizing this impactful CSR initiative. He commended their efforts in creating environmental awareness among students and fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature.

Additionally, School Teacher Mr. Satpal, along with enthusiastic students, took a pledge to implement all the sustainable practices learned during the workshop within the school premises. This commitment reflects the collaborative effort to achieve the ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission‘ envisioned by Green Pencil Foundation and Imperial Auto.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Sandy Khanda, Founder of Green Pencil Foundation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the District Administration and the District Education Officer for their commendable support in making the ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission’ a success. He emphasized the importance of community participation and collective action in achieving environmental sustainability.

About Clean and Green Faridabad Mission
Launched on 5th January 2025 by Green Pencil Foundation in partnership with Imperial Auto, the ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission’ aims to educate students on civic sense, climate change, waste management, and sustainable practices. The first phase of the initiative targets five government schools, reaching over 1,500 students with workshops on sustainable practices. It also includes distributing cloth bags, metal bottles, reusable cloth pads for menstrual hygiene, and conducting tree plantations.

The initiative is set to expand to every school in Faridabad, with a vision to nurture environmentally conscious citizens and contribute to a sustainable future.
