As part of its flagship menstrual health initiative Periods of Pride, Green Pencil Foundation successfully conducted a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Awareness Session at Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bhiwani, Haryana.
The session was organized in collaboration with Unipads and supported under the CSR initiative of State Bank of India. The programme reached over 2500 girl students, creating a safe and informative space to discuss menstrual health, hygiene, and sustainability.
The awareness session was facilitated by Ms. Neha, who served as the Facilitator and Resource Person on behalf of Green Pencil Foundation. Through an interactive and empathetic approach, the session addressed: Menstrual health and hygiene awareness, Breaking myths and taboos around menstruation, Safe and hygienic menstrual practices, the importance of switching to reusable and eco-friendly menstrual products.
The discussion encouraged students to ask questions openly, share their experiences, and build confidence in understanding their menstrual health.
A key highlight of the initiative was the distribution of 2,500 reusable menstrual pad kits (cloth pads) to students. This step directly supports both women’s health and environmental sustainability, offering a cost-effective, long-term alternative to single-use menstrual products.
By promoting reusable menstrual solutions, the programme also reinforced the Foundation’s commitment to reducing menstrual waste while ensuring accessibility and dignity for young women.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, making the session highly engaging and meaningful. The open conversations helped normalize discussions around menstruation and empowered young women with practical knowledge they can carry forward into their daily lives.

This initiative stands as a strong example of how Periods of Pride, the flagship programme of Green Pencil Foundation, continues to create real impact on the ground. Through education, access, and awareness, the Foundation remains committed to ensuring that no girl is held back due to lack of menstrual health information or resources.
Green Pencil Foundation looks forward to expanding such initiatives across more educational institutions, continuing its mission to promote menstrual dignity, health, and sustainability.
