Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with Jagran New Media and Vishvas News, successfully organised a Digital Safety Awareness Session for Senior Citizens under the DigiKavach – “Sach Ke Saathi” campaign. The programme was conducted to empower elderly citizens with essential knowledge and skills to protect themselves from rising digital threats.

The session was graced by Shri Mahender Singh, District Block Officer, Ballabhgarh (Faridabad), who joined as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Seema Gautam, Principal, who joined as the Guest of Honour. Their presence encouraged participants and highlighted the growing importance of digital literacy and cyber safety among senior citizens.

The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Pallavi Mishra, Deputy Editor, Vishvas News, and the main session was facilitated by Ms. Pragya Shukla, Chief Sub-Editor, Vishvas News. They provided practical demonstrations and real-life examples to help participants understand common cyber threats such as phishing links, fake phone calls, online financial frauds, and identity theft.

Senior citizens were trained on simple but effective safety practices, including:

Avoiding unknown links and suspicious messages

Never sharing OTPs, PINs, or bank details

Creating strong passwords or using passkeys

Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for better account security

Participants actively engaged in discussions and shared their experiences, making the session interactive and impactful.
