The Green Pencil Foundation has achieved a proud milestone by receiving the Best MHM (Menstrual Hygiene Management) Practices Award at the 5th MHM India Summit, held on 21st November 2025 in New Delhi.
The summit was organised by Gramalaya, an Approved Key Resource Centre under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, and supported by Bank of America and Reckitt.

A Recognition Grounded in Real Community Impact
This honour represents more than an award it reflects years of dedicated on-ground work by the Green Pencil Foundation to promote menstrual dignity and awareness across India. Through its flagship initiative, “Periods of Pride,” the foundation has empowered thousands of girls with knowledge, resources, and confidence to manage menstrual health safely and with dignity.
The award acknowledges the foundation’s consistent efforts in conducting school workshops, community awareness drives, and on-ground engagement with adolescents, parents, and teachers. These sessions focus on menstrual hygiene, sustainable period products, busting taboos, and empowering girls with accurate information that has long been overlooked.

Community-Centred Approach at the Heart of the Mission
One of the strongest pillars of the foundation’s work is its community-driven approach. Each workshop becomes a safe space for young girls to open up, ask questions, and learn without fear or discomfort. These efforts have played a pivotal role in breaking stigma around periods—especially in underserved rural and urban communities.
This award is a tribute to every volunteer, educator, community worker, and participant who contributed to this change. It symbolizes collective action, compassion, and commitment to menstrual dignity.
Motivation to Scale Impact Even Further
For the Green Pencil Foundation, this recognition at a national platform strengthens its resolve to expand menstrual hygiene programs to more regions across India. The foundation aims to reach communities that lack access to proper information and resources, ensuring that menstruation never becomes a barrier to education, health, or dignity.

The endorsement from Gramalaya Key Resource Centre, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, and support from leading institutions like Bank of America and Reckitt adds further credibility and encouragement to scale the mission.
A Step Toward a Period-Positive India
Receiving the Best MHM Practices Award at the 5th MHM India Summit marks a new chapter for the Green Pencil Foundation. It reaffirms the organization’s mission to build a period-positive, informed, and healthy society where menstruation is understood , not stigmatized.

This milestone celebrates the foundation’s dedication, community trust, and the courageous voices of countless girls who continue to inspire its work every day.
