The Green Pencil Foundation and Jagran Connect, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), celebrated a Sustainable Christmas at MCD Primary School, Andrews Ganj. This unique initiative aimed to spread environmental awareness among 300 underprivileged students while encouraging sustainable practices.
H.E. Mr. Slobodan Uzunov, Ambassador of North Macedonia, attended as the Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of sustainability in combating global challenges.

Gaurav Kumar, Co-founder of the Green Pencil Foundation, emphasized the need to adopt green habits, stating, “Our actions today shape our future. With the world facing the harsh realities of climate change, sustainability must be our priority.”
The event also featured Shri Amit Kumar Sharma, IRS, Additional Commissioner of MCD, who reaffirmed MCD’s commitment to a clean and green Delhi under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Mr. Subhash Manav, Director of Gramalaya, praised the initiative for sensitizing children to sustainability.
A Sustainability themed Dance production and classical dance choreographic performances were presented by Shobhna Jha Kathak Studio, which captivated the audience while conveying a strong environmental message. Eco-friendly gifts distributed by the Green Pencil Foundation and Jagran Connect reinforced the importance of thoughtful, sustainable choices.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Indu Batra, Principal of the school, who appreciated the teams for organizing this impactful and joyous celebration.
