Green Pencil Foundation is organising two engaging birding and nature education activities on 5 and 6 September 2026, creating opportunities for students, communities and nature enthusiasts to learn about birds and experience local biodiversity.

The first Birding Session will take place on 5 September 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Dayal Singh College, University of Delhi. Organised in collaboration with Adveka Environment Society, the session will introduce participants to the fascinating world of birds, including bird identification, behaviour and their role in urban ecosystems.

The following morning, on 6 September 2026, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Green Pencil Foundation will conduct a Bird Guide Walk at Sikanderpur Pahadi, Gurgaon, in collaboration with Ataavi Bird Foundation. Participants will explore the landscape through guided observation and learn about the diverse birdlife found in the area.

The walk will provide an opportunity to observe species such as the Black Kite, Black Drongo, Indian Green Bee-eater, Coppersmith Barbet, White-throated Kingfisher and several other birds. Participants will also have the opportunity to understand the importance of local habitats and their role in supporting urban biodiversity.

At Green Pencil Foundation, we believe that birding is more than simply identifying species. It is a simple and engaging way to encourage people to slow down, observe their surroundings and develop a deeper connection with nature.

Through these activities, we aim to promote nature education, biodiversity awareness and community engagement, while encouraging more people to appreciate and protect the natural spaces around them.
