Bridging Generations with Compassion: Green Pencil Foundation Organizes Intergenerational Bonding Programme in Faridabad

Building Bonds Beyond Borders: Green Pencil Foundation Organizes One-Day Programme on International Bonding

The Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, successfully organized a one-day programme on Intergenerational Bonding at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 28, Faridabad.

The initiative aimed to strengthen the connection between younger and older generations by fostering mutual understanding, empathy, and respect. Through a series of interactive sessions, discussions, and engaging activities, the students learned about the importance of family values, emotional intelligence, and communication across age groups.

More than 100 students participated enthusiastically in the programme, sharing their experiences and insights on how the wisdom of elders can help shape a more compassionate and grounded younger generation.

The event was led by Mr. Aakash Mahato, Ms. Neha, and Mr. Sandy Khanda, Founder and Director of the Green Pencil Foundation, whose guidance made the session both educational and emotionally enriching.

School Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, appreciated the initiative and commended the Foundation’s efforts to build social awareness and human values among students.

Reflecting on the programme, Mr. Sandy Khanda said:

“Intergenerational bonding helps us bridge the gap between age and experience. It teaches young people empathy, patience, and the power of shared stories — all of which are vital for creating a connected and compassionate society.”

Through such initiatives, the Green Pencil Foundation continues to advance its mission of building an inclusive and value-driven society, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and the vision of creating an inclusive, peaceful, and progressive society.
