Nature Visit to Neela Hauz Biodiversity Park

Prithvi – The Eco Club, Sri Aurobindo College (DU) and Green Pencil Foundation
In a collective effort to reconnect young minds with nature and promote environmental awareness, Prithvi – The Eco Club of Sri Aurobindo College, in collaboration with the Green Pencil Foundation, successfully organized a Nature Visit to Neela Hauz Biodiversity Park, New Delhi.
The visit witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 30 students from Prithvi – The Eco Club and Green Pencil Foundation, who came together to explore one of Delhi’s most important urban biodiversity restoration sites.
The nature visit was thoughtfully designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to biodiversity conservation, wetland ecosystems, and urban ecological restoration. Neela Hauz Biodiversity Park, once a degraded water body, now stands as a successful example of ecological revival making it an ideal outdoor classroom for environmental learning.


Participants were introduced to: Native plant species and their ecological importance ,Wetland ecosystems and water conservation methods, Urban biodiversity and its role in climate resilience , Sustainable conservation practices in metropolitan cities.

The activity was led by Mr. Aakash Mahato, representing the Green Pencil Foundation, who guided students through the park while sharing insights on biodiversity conservation, climate change, and the significance of preserving green spaces in urban environments.
The initiative was co-led by Ms. Ruhanika Verma, President of Prithvi – The Eco Club, whose leadership and coordination played a key role in ensuring active student engagement and meaningful discussions throughout the visit.
The interactive sessions, nature walks, and open discussions encouraged students to reflect on their relationship with nature and understand the urgent need for environmental stewardship. Such experiential learning activities help nurture environmentally responsible citizens who are informed, sensitive, and action-oriented.
This collaborative nature visit reflects the shared vision of Prithvi – The Eco Club and Green Pencil Foundation to promote sustainability, climate awareness, and nature-based learning among youth. By bridging academic knowledge with real-world environmental exposure, the initiative contributes towards building a greener, more conscious generation.
