On 1st January 2026, Green Pencil Foundation welcomed the New Year with a meaningful and eco-friendly celebration by organizing a Nature Picnic at Sanjay Van. This initiative reflected the foundation’s vision of promoting sustainable celebrations and encouraging people to reconnect with nature in a mindful way.
The Nature Picnic was led by Aakash Mahato and saw the enthusiastic participation of 30 participants from diverse backgrounds, all united by a shared love for nature and environmental learning. Instead of conventional celebrations, participants chose to begin the year surrounded by greenery, fresh air, and wildlife.

The event featured a guided nature walk, bird watching sessions, and engaging fun activities designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the natural ecosystem. Through the guided exploration, participants learned about local flora and fauna, observed various bird species in their natural habitat, and experienced the joy of outdoor learning.
This Nature Picnic was more than just an outing it was a step towards fostering environmental awareness, responsible recreation, and harmony with nature. By celebrating the New Year sustainably, Green Pencil Foundation reinforced the idea that joyful moments can coexist with ecological responsibility.
Green Pencil Foundation continues to create such nature-based experiences to inspire communities to value, protect, and celebrate the environment. The Sanjay Van Nature Picnic stands as a reminder that meaningful celebrations begin with conscious choices and a deeper connection with the natural world.
