Gurugram, September 18, 2026: Founder of Green Pencil Foundation, Mr. Sandy Khanda, participated as a Keynote Speaker and Judge at the UN SDG Summit 2026, organised by Pathways World School, on September 18, 2026.
The summit brought together students from 13 schools across Delhi-NCR, providing young learners with a platform to explore the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), discuss real-world challenges and present innovative ideas for building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
The event was held from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM and featured student-led discussions, innovative solutions and a Design Thinking Challenge, where participating students worked on ideas addressing social, environmental and sustainability-related challenges.
Sandy Khanda Delivers Keynote on Sustainability and Youth Action
During the summit, Sandy Khanda addressed students as a keynote speaker and shared his experiences of working with young people and communities on environmental sustainability, climate action and education.
Through Green Pencil Foundation, Sandy has been actively working with schools, colleges and youth groups to promote environmental awareness and encourage young people to become active participants in addressing environmental challenges.
His interaction with the students focused on the importance of moving beyond awareness towards action, innovation and community participation. He encouraged students to look at sustainability not only as a subject to study but as a way of understanding and responding to challenges around them.
Judging the Design Thinking Challenge
Sandy Khanda also served as one of the judges for the Design Thinking Challenge, in which students from 13 participating schools presented their ideas and solutions.
The challenge gave students an opportunity to identify problems, understand the people and communities affected by them, develop possible solutions and communicate their ideas through a structured design-thinking approach.
As a judge, Sandy interacted with student teams and observed their presentations, ideas and approaches towards solving real-world challenges. The experience also provided an opportunity to engage directly with young innovators and understand how students are thinking about sustainability and social change.
Creating a Platform for Young Changemakers
The UN SDG Summit 2026 at Pathways World School highlighted the growing role of young people in conversations around sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Events that bring together students from different schools can create opportunities for young learners to exchange ideas, learn from one another and understand that environmental and social challenges require collaboration across communities.
